FG Firearms specializes in offering firearms safety training. FG Firearms offers firearm courses designed by the NRA or required by the State of Ohio. All classes adhere closely to the required subjects and materials and cover on other information requested by our students.
Why choose FG Firearms for your class?
Our class sizes are small. We've limited the number of students we will accept for any class in order to ensure you receive the attention and instruction that works best. The number of students is dependent on the class, but no class ever exceeds 16 students.
The right topics are taught. The syllabus and information taught is dead on. We teach everything required by the NRA and the State of Ohio in addition to information our students find useful. Range practice time is structured, useful, and will improve your skills. A full two hours is spent on what most people want to know - the laws concerning carrying a firearm. When you receive your completion certificate, the knowledge you will have gained will be a reminder you made the right choice.
The environment is relaxed yet productive. FG Firearms' range is designed with the shooter and safety in mind. The firing line is covered and can be blocked off from the wind in inclement weather. The classroom and the range are at the same location, meaning you do not have to travel to separate locations.
The instructors are knowledgeable. We're not your average instructors. We have a diverse background in firearms, safety, education, and teaching. Our experiences aside from firearms include certifications in teaching motorcycle safety and aviation, practical military experience, and participation in many outdoor hobbies.
We use a multi-media format to keep the class interresting. A 12 hour class is a long class, but it's the law. To keep you motivated and interrested,
we present information that is useful to both novice and experienced shooters. We have an in-house designed presentation complete
with computer animation, drawings, case studies, and videos for the entire course. We suppliment the presentation with special handouts, hands on
activities, and use many different handguns for students to pickup and handle during inside the classroom.
Where is FG Firearms located?
Our classroom and range are located 1 mile north of Newark on Fallsburg Road (also known as Cedar Street or State Route 79 North).
What courses does FG Firearms currently offer?
Our course offering is always growing. We currently offer Ohio Concealed Carry Classes commanlly refered to as CCW or CHL, NRA First Steps Pistol, NRA Basic Pistol, and Ohio Hunters Education. You can learn more about each of these on the classes tab above.
Does FG Firearms offer private, 1 on 1, or group classes?
Yes! Not only do we offer these options for any of our classes, we will even travel to your location to do the class. This could be especially useful if a group of friends, co-workers, a large family, or a civic organization wants to take a class at their house. What are the future plans for FG Firearms?
We plan to expand the courses offered over the next few years. Our plans are to add muzzleloading, reloading, and shotgun courses. We are also planning to offer force on force drills to help you prepare for an encounter should it ever occur.
