Eric Curtis
Eric is one of the founding instructors of FG Firearms and a NRA certified firearms
instructor. After living in Ohio for the first 10 years of his
life, his family moved to Germany until he was 18. On returning to the US, Eric attended Ohio University and has
since lived in Texas and Ohio. He enjoys deer hunting using his bow and muzzleloader but can occasionally be
found using a shotgun as well. In addition to being a Conceal Carry permit holder, he is an advocate for
Open Carry as well. He is certified to teach all courses offered by FG Firearms.
When not working for FG Firearms, Eric spends his time volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster for troop 13 and enjoying outdoor hobbies including scuba diving, camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and railroad motorcars. As a youth, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and as an adult received a bachelor’s degree in communication system and a master's degree in business. He holds a commercial pilot's license and is PADI certified for Advanced Open Water scuba diving.
Rich Thorne
Rich is one of the founding instructors of FG Firearms and a NRA certified firearms
instructor and an NRA Certified Range Saftey Officer. He was born and raised in Pennsylvania.
There he learned about firearms through hunting and shooting
sports with his family and friends. He joined the US Army Reserve while still in high school
and went to active duty after graduation, serving our country from 1991-1997.
He is currently certified to teach the following NRA courses; Personal Protection in the Home, First Steps Pistol,
Basic Pistol, Basic Rifle and First Steps Rifle. He is also certified to teach the following non NRA courses
Ohio Hunters Education, Ohio Trapper Education, Ohio Passport for Fishing, Red Cross First Aid, and Red Cross CPR.
Rich is still an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He can usually be found either hunting, camping, boating or riding his motorcycle. He is also active in many civic and social orginizations as well.
